ROOTSYTOONS NEWS

We're well into a new year ...Valentines is around the bend and I've been to so many places since New Years Eve it's hard to recall it all! I been so busy I haven't even got around to telling you all my good news from the tail end of last year either!!!

Ok, so i'll take a few steps back into December 2008 where I won an OzMusic Award for my song Goodnight and performed live on MTV with my bro Jeb.

This was followed by an awesome weekend at the Festival of The Sun (which ironically actually rained most of time). 2009 rolled in and I went from Singing in Byron to then a week in Blissful Bali, back to Brisbane and then down to Sydney to record a song I wrote with Brendan Gallagher for a new feature Film called Subdivision (out mid 2009) and then on to the Tamworth Country Music Festival for the beginning of my Lady Luck Tour!

Yeeeehar! I was a Tamworth virgin till then and now I truly know what all the fuss has been about. Peel street buskin is nuts, crazy, wild and freakin HOT!

I performed several shows at The Supper Club, but the highlights for me were my guest spots with Bill Chambers at The Pub but even bigger highlight was the last minute unexpected surprise gig of jumping up on stage after Kasey Chambers, Beccy Cole and Gina Jeffries and performing two of my songs with the in-house Bluegrass band at the Trecc! The contrast of busking on Peel St. to then playing to a captive audience of over 1,500 people was very cool indeed!

I'll certainly be back for next years Tamworth fest. but next year I will make sure my van has a fan in it!

I am now in Canberra with my band of Leading Men performing as the headline act for the grand opening...and very much enjoying the airconditioning in our hotel room!

The tour is rolling along nicely and I'm loving playing with the band again after doing things solo for the last few months. Melburnians and Adelaidians, check out the gig dates below and I look forward to seeing you at a show soon!
